Toxic Imports Day of Action

January 16, 2008

The United Steelworkers (USW) have marked January 16 as Toxic Imports Day of Action. The Day of Action is part of a comprehensive effort to inform consumers and lawmakers of concerns of toxicity such as lead paint in toys. The USW, prior to the Christmas holiday, made available lead paint detection systems to consumers and the results of toxicity in imported toys were alarming.
