The AFL-CIO Organizing Institute will be holding a

3-day Organizer Training

June 13-15

at the
IBEW Local 683 Training Center
947 Goodale Blvd, Columbus OH

The training will focus on basic organizing skills for internal and external organizing. All affiliate unions are welcomed to send members to this training.

If you are looking to train members to help work on your organizing campaigns here is your chance.

At this training members will learn …

  • One-on-one communication skills
  • How to move workers to take action
  • Leadership identification
  • Basic elements of a union organizing campaign

The training will begin at 11AM Friday June 13 and end at noon on Sunday June 15.

All participants must be pre-registered for the training with the attached sponsorship form. No walk-in registrations will be accepted. All fees must be paid by the start of the training, unless other arrangements are made in advance. We are not able to accept personal checks.

Unions sponsoring three or more members must also send an experienced organizer to assist with the training and an additional trainer for every four additional participants.

The cost to the sponsoring union is $100 per participant if pre-paid and $125 per participant if billed after the training. This will cover meals and training materials only.

Any costs for hotel overnight stays, parking or transportation, whether local or out of area, are the responsibility of the sponsoring union.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn City Center at the special rate of $89/night. This rate will be available until June 6 only, so please register and make hotel reservations early to ensure space.
